Chengdu J-20 Specs

The Chengdu J-20 stealth fighter features a mixed fuselage with a low radar cross section, low jet engine intake, delta canard configuration, modern fly-by-wire (FBW) system, inletless supersonic inlet (DSI), V-shaped tail and tail fin. The FBW system is equipped with a fire control system and engine management system. The electronically scanned active array array (AESA) will scan the target information and send it to the fire control system.

The size of the Chengdu J-20 fuselage is larger than the Sukhoi T-50 and Lockheed Martin F-22 Raptor. The front of the prototype looks similar to the F-22 Raptor and the back looks like a Sukhoi T-50. The J-20 fighter jets are designed to carry out ground attack missions even in hostile environments. The aircraft can reach higher altitudes with delta wings in supersonic speeds.

The stealth fighter will be equipped with a tricycle-type landing gear consisting of a single nose wheel leg and two single main gear legs. The nose of the teeth will retreat to the cockpit floor during takeoff, while the main gear pulls forward to the fuselage.

Chengdu J-20 Engine

The J-20 stealth fighter is powered by two WS-10G vector thrust turbofan engines designed and manufactured by the Shenyang Liming Aircraft Engine Company. Each engine produces 30,000 lb of thrust. The WS-10G engine is equipped with a nozzle controlled by thrust vector controlled (TVC) to reduce radar cross section (RCS) and infrared (IR) emissions. The diameter of the machine is 0.95 m. Dry weight is 1,494 kg. It will feature a single high pressure turbine, a double low pressure turbine, an annular burner and a compressor.

The maximum speed of a J-20 stealth fighter is 2,100 km/ hour. The J-20 can ride at a speed of 304 m/ s. The service range and ceiling will be 3,400 km and 18,000 m respectively.
