L-39NG Jet Trainer Specs, Cockpit, Engine and Price – The L-39NG is an advanced multi-role jet trainer developed by Aero Vodochody Aerospace, Czech Republic. This is intended to provide enhanced military aviation training capabilities needed for fourth and fifth generation fighter aircraft. The aircraft is intended to replace the old L-39 Albatros jet trainer/ ground attack aircraft fleet, as well as other existing jet trainers.

The L-39NG jet trainer offers superior maneuverability and extended range. It will function as a main and advanced jet trainer, as well as full attack weapons / aircraft trainer for countries with limited air force. It can also be used to conduct light battles and reconnaissance missions under all climatic conditions.

The new generation L-39NG jet trainer was introduced at Farnborough International Airshow in July 2014. The aircraft made its first flight in December 2018. The aircraft is expected to get type certification in 2019, with first delivery scheduled to begin in the first quarter of 2020.

L-39NG Specs

The L-39NG jet trainer is a broad modernization of the L-39 Albatros training/ ground attack aircraft. It features a lighter and more powerful fuselage incorporating improved aerodynamics, and selected L-39/159 spare parts and off-the-shelf components. The redesigned airframe offers fatigue times of up to 15,000 flight hours.

The L-39NG jet trainer has an overall length of 12.03 m and has a wing span of 9.56 m. It has an empty weight of 3,100 kg, a maximum takeoff weight of 6,300 kg and a landing weight of 5,800 kg. It is capable of carrying a maximum external load of up to 1,200 kg. Internal and external fuel capacities are 1,450 kg and 570 kg, respectively.

The rugged design combines a redesigned wet wing with an integral fuel tank and aided power aileron. The fuel tank is installed with a one-point pressure refueling system. The L-39NG is also equipped with a nose wheel steering, debriefing system, wide track undercarriage, low pressure tires, integrated health and usage monitoring system, and various optional equipment.

The L-39NG aircraft requires low maintenance and operating costs, and offers increased corrosion resistance, high reliability, and longer durability.

L-39NG Engine

The L-39NG jet trainer is powered by a Williams International turbofan engine FJ44-4M which is lightweight and fuel efficient. The engine is able to produce a maximum thrust of 16.87 kN with a low noise level. This engine has an electric ignition system and a dual FADEC system. Air inlet is placed above the wing to prevent damage to the engine due to foreign matter.

The maximum speed of the L-39NG jet trainer is 775 km/ h and an internal fuel capacity of 1,450 kg. This ensures the reach of the ferry is 2,590 km. The aircraft can ride at speeds of 23 m/ s and have a maximum service ceiling of 38,000 feet.
