Lockheed Martin LM-100J Super Hercules Specs, Cockpit, and Price – LM-100J Super Hercules is a commercial freighter aircraft manufactured by the Lockheed Martin Corporation at the Marietta, Georgia, US. This aircraft is a variant of a commercial multipurpose transport aircraft from the C-130J Super Hercules military transport aircraft. Lockheed Martin submitted an application to the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) for the LM100J aircraft type certification in February 2014.

The first flight of LM-100J Super Hercules was completed in Marietta in May 2017. It was exhibited for the first time at the International Paris Air Show in June 2017.

The LM-100J freighter aircraft is the latest version of the L-100 Hercules. This aircraft has a length of 34.37m (112ft 9in), height of 11.81m (38ft 9in), wingspan of 40.38m (132ft 7in) and horizontal tail span of 16.05m (52ft 8in). The broad LM-100J airframe allows aircraft to provide many missions, including cargo, oil and gas, mining logistics, air fire, air shipping, air ambulance, humanitarian assistance operations, personnel transportation, search-and-rescue, and field operations the hard one.

It can operate in short and unprepared airfields without ground support equipment and can be loaded or disassembled with minimal material handling equipment. It can fly in all weather conditions and can provide fast or loose loads at the height of the truck bed. The aircraft also includes a central wing box and increased ice cover protection.

It offers an additional 50% range of L-100 aircraft.

LM-100J is designed to serve bulk and oversized markets, especially to developing countries. It can also support oil and gas operations, mining logistics, air firefighting, air shipping, medevac / air ambulances, humanitarian assistance operations, personnel transportation, harsh field operations, and search and rescue.

The LM-100J is capable of carrying 33 percent more cargo than the L-100, which was last marketed in the 1990s. The LM-100J has a range of 4,000 kilometers with a load of 18 tons and can operate with two crew instead of three L-100s.

The LM-100J freighter aircraft has two cockpit pilots that integrate communication, navigation, air traffic monitoring / management (CNS / ATM) that are compatible with digital avionics with two head-up displays and four head-down displays.

The cockpit includes weather radar and Northrop Grumman land mapping, and a commercial traffic warning system (TCAS). It also features digital autopilot and automatic maintenance and error reporting systems.

The latest LM-100J price is around US $ 65 Million. Ireland-based flight group ASL Aviation made an order with Lockheed Martin for ten LM-100J aircraft in July 2014. Bravo Industries agreed to buy ten LM-100J aircraft from Lockheed Martin in July 2016.
