Piaggio P180 Avanti EVO Specs, Interior, Cockpit, and Price – Piaggio P180 Avanti EVO is a new twin turboprop aircraft developed by Italian aerospace manufacturing company, Piaggio Aero Industries. Third generation aircraft offer a maximum speed of 402K (745km / h), making it the fastest multi-utility turboprop in the world.

Flight testing of the Piaggio P180 Avanti EVO began in February 2013 and the aircraft was launched in May 2014 at the European Business Aviation Convention and Exhibition (EBACE) in Geneva, Switzerland. This high-performance aircraft was built at the new production facility Piaggio Aero in Villanova d'Abenga, Savona, Italy.

Piaggio P180 Avanti EVO design is based on the Avanti P.180 platform and combines enhanced features that increase efficiency, improve safety and comfort, and lower operating costs. This new variant offers greater coverage, faster climbing, lower noise footprint, world-class security systems and spacious cabins. This is also characterized by lower emission levels and fuel savings.

This aircraft can be used by armed forces, government agents and private operators. It can function as an air ambulance or photogrammetric patrol unit, as well as assist in flight inspection for calibration of air navigation instruments and radio measurements.

Piaggio P180 Avanti EVO fuselage has been upgraded by introducing a three-surface lift design (3LS) which is characterized by a small front wing, inverted middle wing, and a flat tail surface height. The design provides aircraft stability and control at high speeds.

Elegant aerodynamic curves from nose to tip increase laminar flow and reduce obstacles, maximizing performance by 34%. The drag-reducing winglet and front-wing redesign increase efficiency and reduce CO2 emissions by 3%. The new design for the wing surface also allows the aircraft to rise 3% faster.

Piaggio P180 Avanti EVO is powered by two Pratt and Whitney Canada PT6A engines that drive two five-blade diameter propellers developed by Hartzell Propeller.

The new and lightweight wide propeller is made of aluminum alloy and is fully hairy, reversible, and hydraulically controlled at constant speed. Propeller RPM decreased from 2,000 to 1,800. These features, along with changes in aerodynamics, redesigned nacelle and engine exhaust geometry, reduce external noise by 68% or 5dB (A). Internal cabin noise is reduced by 20% or 1dB (A), further enhancing passenger comfort.

Avanti EVO has a new low-maintenance landing gear, including a steerable two-wheel nose wheel and two main one-wheel landing gear units. Each main wheel is equipped with carbon, anti-slip brakes. The aircraft can operate from suburban airports and smaller airfields with short runways of less than 1,000m, which do not serve scheduled flights.

Piaggio P180 Avanti EVO received European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) certification for additional fuel tanks in June 2014. Addition of auxiliary tanks increases aircraft fuel capacity from 2,826lb to 3.226lb and maximum range of 17%, from 1,470mi to standard fuel to 1,720nmi (3,185km). It also allows planes to travel across continents and US coast-to-coast flights with just one fuel stop.

Piaggio P180 Avanti EVO has a rear cabin volume of 375ft³ (12.88m³) and can accommodate seven passengers with enough space to work and relax. It is equipped with broadband and satellite connectivity, turning it into a flying office. The spacious stand-up cabin is 5 feet 9 inches (1.75 m) tall, 6 feet 1 inch (1.85 m) wide, and 15 feet (4.55 m) long.

This luxury cabin is also redesigned with two separate rows of leather seats that can be rotated by Iacobucci HF and the interior by Poltrona Frau. An improved air conditioning and flash system also contributes to passenger comfort.

The Piaggio P180 Avanti EVO cockpit is equipped with Rockwell Collins Pro Line 21 avionics suite with tablet-based electronic flight bags. It also includes twin control panels, three large adaptive flight displays (AFD), a comfortable cursor control panel, integrated avionics processor system, four data concentrator units (DCU), sophisticated weather radar, TCAS 1 (Traffic Collision Avoidance System), and terrain awareness and warning system (TAWS). This aircraft can be flown by one or two pilots and meets the standards of EASA CS-23 and FAR Part 23.

The price of the latest Piaggio P180 Avanti EVO is US $ 7.7 Million. Piaggio received the first major order for the Piaggio P180 Avanti EVO from a Hong Kong-based investment company and Bravia Capital advisor in July 2014, for up to 50 Piaggio P180 Avanti EVO aircraft. The contract includes ten strict orders with options for 40 more. Bravia Capital uses aircraft for passenger transportation in the US.

Piaggio Aerospace sent a Piaggio P180 Avanti EVO aircraft that was configured VIP to Kris Sakti Holdings in March 2015. Piaggio Aerospace signed a contract with West Coast Aviation Services to ship five Piaggio P180 Avanti EVO aircraft, in November 2016.

Piaggio Aerospace received four orders for the Piaggio P180 Avanti EVO aircraft at the 2018 European Business Aviation Convention (EBACE) held in Geneva in May 2018.
