Beriev Be-200 Specs

The design of the Be-200 fuselage is a high-wing T-tail monoplane with a one-step design hull that can provide stability in water. The fuselage is made of aluminum alloy and coated with corrosion protection material. Overall, the Be-200 aircraft has a length of 31.43 m, a height of 8.9 m, and a wingspan of 32.78 m.

Designed as a multirole amphibious platform, the Be-200 can be configured for various missions. Be-200 has significant maritime characteristics for conducting coastal and blue waters operations. The aircraft provides flight characteristics similar to conventional aircraft.

In terms of the landing mechanism, the Be-200 aircraft is equipped with a hydraulic retractable retractable landing unit. Each unit has two wheels besides water steering, which provides steering in water. Underwing stabilizers mounted on the wings provide stability in water.

Beriev Be-200 Engine and Performance

The Be-200 amphibious aircraft is powered by two Progress D-436TP ZMKB turbofans and a TA 12-60 auxiliary power unit. Each engine is capable of producing an output power of 73.6 kN. The machine was developed by the Progress Design Bureau and produced by the Motorsich factory in Zaporozhye.

The D-436TP turbofan engines produce higher performance in hot and high conditions compared to turboprop engines mounted on similar fire engines. The engine has been developed with sophisticated materials and innovative solutions that are equipped with an engine control system, and an engine vibration monitoring system.

Be-200 aircraft can fly with a maximum speed of 680 km / h with a range of 3,300 km and a service ceiling of 8,000 m. The aircraft can ride at speeds of 3,350 ft per minute. The maximum take-off weight of Be-200 on the runway is 41,000 kg and in water is 37,900 kg.

The Be-200 amphibious aircraft is equipped with a partial glass cockpit. The cockpit is equipped with a digital flight control system (fly-by-wire) and a modern navigation system, including satellite navigation (GPS), flight management system (FMS), autopilot and weather radar. The flight control system, integrated with an aerodynamic design, provides high maneuverability at low speeds as well as better handling and safety capabilities, and reduces pilot workload.

The Be-200 aircraft is equipped with a complete avionics circuit for all weather requirements. The avionics integrated all-weather ARIA 200-M system displays six 152 mm × 203 mm (6in × 8in) LCDs and an Electronic Flight and Information System (EFIS) to display all flight information to pilots. This system was developed by Honeywell together with the Moscow Research Institute for Aircraft Equipment.
