XTI TriFan 600 Specs, Interior, Cockpit, and Price

XTI TriFan 600 Specs, Interior, Cockpit, and Price – TriFan 600 is a six-seat VTOL aircraft that is being developed by the XTI Aircraft Company, Denver, US. The aircraft was developed as the world's first long-distance  vertical take-off and landing (VTOL) jet. XTI developed the TriFan 600 aircraft to target business flights, and high-value corporate and individual executives. The company expects to sell between 40 and 100 TriFan 600 aircraft per year.

XTI began its preliminary design to develop the first prototype TriFan 600 aircraft in November 2015. Honeywell Aerospace was contracted to supply the HTS900 engine for use in the first prototype in August 2016. The scope of the contract also included an additional engine for the XTI for land propulsion test systems.

XTI TriFan 600 Specs

TriFan 600 aircraft will be built using carbon fiber and epoxy structures. The initial design of the aircraft involved work on computational fluid dynamics (CFD), including wind tunnel testing using computers.

The aircraft will include three fans channeling 72in and two wing fans. It takes off vertically using three fan channels and the wing fan will spin forward to offer a transition for high-speed flights. The aircraft can also land vertically on a paved surface the size of a helipad.

Aircraft can fly faster, have greater reach, and save time by eliminating trips to and from the airport, XTI said. This can take off directly from a paved helipad-sized space.

XTI TriFan 600 Engine

TriFan 600 will be powered by two HTS900 turboshaft engines with high performance reaching 2,600HP. This machine was developed by Honeywell Aerospace. The engine will use a digital engine control system (FADEC) full dual channel authority with manual backup.

The TriFan 600 aircraft will have a maximum cruise speed of 630 km / h (390 mph), a maximum cruise height of 35.000 ft, and a range of 1,500 nm. This will reach maximum height in 11 minutes and maximum cruising speed in 90 seconds.

XTI TriFan 600 Cabin and Interior

The TriFan 600 aircraft will accommodate five passengers and one pilot, with adequate space for bags. This will display the comfort of a pressurized cabin integrated with a modern luxury seating arrangement with a stylish surface and interior. The aircraft will include a sliding door that will cover the third distributed fan for future flights.

XTI TriFan 600 Cockpit and Avionics

The TriFan 600 aircraft will be equipped with a fly-by-wire flight control system that is integrated with advanced avionics. This will include the rules of a single pilot instrument flight (IFR) and will also feature advanced safety features, including autopilot and computerized controls for takeoff and landing.

XTI TriFan 600 Price

The estimated price of TriFan 600 is US $ 6.5 Million. Since its introduction at the 2017 National Business Aviation Association (NBAA) convention, XTI has received 76 orders for TriFan 600 aircraft. If all goes according to plan with the testing and certification process, it is expected that TriFan 600 will be shipped in 2023.
